About Us
We Are Non Profit Organization
==> This organization is established as a nonprofit civic entity under Oregon law to advance cultural diversity, civic equity, and democratic participation among historically marginalized ethnic communities from and in Southern Ethiopia. It will function as a community-based advocacy and research platform committed to enhancing inclusive governance and equitable political representation for underrepresented groups.
==> The organization’s activities will include conducting and publishing evidence-based research that identifies systemic disparities, informs civic engagement strategies, and supports community advocacy. It will facilitate capacity-building programs and civic education initiatives, particularly for youth, to strengthen democratic values, participatory governance, and civic responsibility within these communities.
A core function of the organization is to serve as a convening body for community stakeholders, scholars, and civic leaders to develop a consensus-based political manifesto collaboratively. This manifesto will be a shared guiding framework for articulating community interests, pursuing policy reform, and promoting collective well-being, unity, and justice among Southern Ethiopian communities.
==> The organization may also coordinate public forums, roundtable discussions, leadership workshops, and strategic outreach campaigns to raise awareness and mobilize support for equitable representation, inclusive governance, and equal rights of development. All activities will be nonpartisan and consistent with the organization’s civic purpose. It will not engage in charitable solicitation or operate as a charitable organization under IRS Code §501(c)(3), and no part of its earnings shall benefit private individuals. Activities will be limited to the purposes permitted under Oregon law for non-charitable mutual benefit or civic nonprofit corporations
==> Past efforts by individual ethnolinguistic groups from Southern Ethiopia to protect their socio-political and economic interests have faced significant limitations and failed to yield sustainable outcomes. These unilateral struggles have exposed the structural disadvantages and fragmentation that hinder equitable participation in the national framework. In response, the formation of a unified alliance—SAFE Ethiopia—has become imperative. By bringing together historically marginalized Southern nations and nationalities under a collective platform, this alliance aims to amplify their voice, secure shared and lasting benefits, and strengthen their contribution to a stable, inclusive, and democratic Ethiopian state.
Our Mission
The mission is to mobilize the community and provide political organizations with evidence-based research that creates a political document uniting the nations in the former southern region, enabling them to come together to protect their collective or individual interests at the national level.
